Mission Rescue – Holiday Bible Club 2019

Back by popular demand, St George’s holiday bible club will be taking place Tuesday 30th of July to Friday 2nd August between 10am and 1pm. Places are open for children between 5 and 11.   1. What will my child be doing at Mission Rescue?
    We will be having an action packed, lively time at Mission Rescue. Your child will be involved in exciting group games and activities, as well as crafts to take home and enjoy. They will take part in large group sessions which will have silliness, spy workouts, singing, and engaging discovery of God’s epic rescue plan. They will spend the week with a group of children and enthusiastic leaders called Spy Masters, who will spend time with them in small group settings called Spy rings. Each day will end with a pack lunch shared in their Spy Rings.
  2. How much does Mission Rescue cost?
    Mission Rescue costs £5 per child per day, which totals £20 per child for the week. Large family discounts are available. If you are in need of financial assistance please contact Todd at todd@sgw.org.uk.

  6. Are leaders trained and DBS checked?
    Before Mission Rescue our team has been preparing and training to be ready for the week. All leaders are DBS checked and approved for service at Mission Rescue. You can recognise all Mission Rescue leaders as they will be wearing a red polo shirt and name badge. We will have a trained first-aid responder on-site.
  7. How can I be ready for Mission Rescue?
    Register online, invite your friends to come along too! Wear comfortable clothing to be active in whatever the weather! Don’t forget sun cream! Bring a pack lunch and water bottle, labelled with your child’s name. Weather permitting, Wednesday will involve water games outdoors, please plan to bring swim costumes and towels or a change of clothes.
  8. What about food?
    We will stop mid-morning for a snack. Each day will end with children enjoying a pack lunch (which they bring from home) together. Please make note on your registration if your child has any food sensitivities or is vegetarian. Plan to join us for a celebration banquet on Friday at the end of Mission Rescue. (More information will be available at the club and via email.)
  9. How do I register for Mission Rescue?

  10. Can I experience Mission Rescue too?
    Please join us on Friday 2 August at 12:20pm as we wrap up Mission Rescue. You will hear the children singing and enjoy some fun. Then join us for a feast together!
    Bring the whole family and join us for a special Mission Rescue service on Sunday 4 August at 10:30am at St. George’s church. More information about these will be given at the Mission Rescue and via email.
  11. What do I do while my child is at Mission Rescue?
    Parents and siblings are welcome to pop into the Goldfish Coffee Room and enjoy a hot drink and some cake. From this room, you can get a little bit of an idea of what your children are experiencing and they will know you are nearby. There will be a few toys set out for little ones to play with, but they are under their parent’s responsibility. Please note for safety reasons, the Goldfish Coffee Room is available only to parents and siblings of children attending the club, and volunteers who are helping with the club. Alternatively you are welcome to drop off and return for pick up by 1 pm.
  12. My child keeps talking about Mission Rescue, what else is going on for children at St. George’s Church?
    If your child enjoys Mission Rescue plan to join us for a Light and Laughter party in October, Christmas party in December, and Friday evenings of Ping Pong and Pizza throughout the year. We warmly invite your child to join our Sonseeker groups on Sunday mornings. Here they can make friends, have fun and find out more about Jesus!
